| MILES Training Gear is HERE! |
14 December 2009
We are proud to announce that after many years of effort we are finally able to offer the the MILES laser simulator to support our Force-on-Force training programs. This system allows a user with M4 rifle to fire blanks at an opponent which will activate an invisible laser, which when it hits the opponent's vest will trigger a loud alarm on the vest, registering a 'KILL'. To deactivate the alarm the opponent must turn a key which will also disable his weapon. The system will also warn the wearer of a 'near miss' by chirping repeatedly when the shooter's laser comes within a few feet of the sensor vest.
This system is simply the most effective way to train FoF with rifles. That's why the U.S.military and allies have been using it since the 1980's. It is touted as a "highly effective tool in achieving combat readiness" by all major ground forces training commands. New systems utilize integral GPS to allow computer-recorded exercises to be re-created online for debriefing and analysis. Our system is older and does none of that, but we have zero need for that anyhow. The point is, the military has found nothing better than MILES and has chosen only to update it by integrating into a computer network for battle re-creation.
MILES offers tremendous advantages over SIMS/Airsoft. 100 yard hits are common with MILES. You use an actual weapons platform. There are no cumbersome, hot, safety gear items required because there are no actual projectiles being fired. You can hear shots fired, even from distance. Weapons malfunctions are dealt with as with normal ammo. MILES is simple the best there is for FoF requiring mid-to-long range capability.
How will this work? We will bundle MILES into certain courses and provide loaner rifles completely rigged and sighted with the MILES package. Sensor vests (actually H style web gear configuration) and blanks are provided. The courses will be listed on our main webpage as they develop. We plan on using them primarily for PATROL RIFLE, ACTIVE SHOOTER and SMALL UNIT TACTICS programs. Military and LE will receive priority access to the system. Email for questions or to reserve your training.
